Chinn Construction was the general contractor for this downtown tower project. They turned to Bellevue roofing contractor Axiom Division 7 to roof this 9,500-square-foot job.

Challenges:
The Eastside Seattle commercial roofing project kicked off in the middle of the winter season, Axiom ran into weather delays right from the start. Installing the roof was part of the critical path for Chinn Construction. Axiom Division 7 recommended installing a torch-applied temporary vapor barrier and temporary roof over the concrete deck prior to the installation of the roof to provide immediate dry-in of the building. This temporary roof was extremely valuable to the general contractor and helped the project stay on schedule.
Adding to the complexity of this 19th-floor project was the aerial lounge and rooftop terrace, which includes a dog run, solarium, firepit, outdoor seating and barbecues.
The rooftop terrace provides residents with an incredible view of downtown Bellevue, Lake Washington, Seattle and Mount Rainier.
Roof System:
Axiom’s Bellevue roofing team installed a Soprema 2-ply SBS roofing system over Sopraboard, tapered insulation, 2 base layers of rigid insulation and vapor barrier, all layers adhered over concrete.
